My Dream Man vs. My Real Man

I am starting up this blog to talk about wedding shtuff. My regular blog is: dadcanihavesomecrackerjacks.blogspot.com. I just thought it would be a good idea to separate the two blogs since I will be wanting to blog a lot about wedding things as well as the regular topics I talk about on The Caffeinated Philosophy Experiment.

Anyways, I have a post I wrote in January of last year on there titled "What the fuck do I want in a boyfriend?" which can be found here. I decided to compare my current finacé and love of my life to some of the statements I made there.

"First of all, I need someone who will support me"
Nick supports me more than I could ever imagine. Our relationship is one giant ball of support. We both support each others' aspirations and goals and help each other with them as well.

"I think the next important thing is someone I can trust"
I find trust something really hard for me to find in people but for no apparent reason I was able to trust him on the spot. The second day we met, we hung out just the two of us. I met him at school trying to start up a comedy club and the next day he texted me (and the other dude) if we wanted to hang out. I said yes and so we did. I let him give me a tour of the city. I drove around and I had no idea where he could've been leading me. At one point I even made the statement, "You could just be taking me to some creepy garage to be raped". We laugh about it now, and we laughed about it then.

"Someone who is spontaneous"
This is not the first word I would use to describe Nick. When justifying this point in my blog I said that I'm not spontaneous so it'd be nice to have someone that is. I think what I meant my spontaneous is someone who surprises me, which Nick does. But in a way I'm glad Nick isn't super spontaneous because I like things VERY planned out as well. But surprises are nice.

"Someone confident"
Nick is an introvert but is confident. This is what I need. He can easily get along with any group of people (pretty much) and is confident in himself and will speak up when he wants to. This is exactly what I need in a partner.

"Someone funny"
Nick and I met at a meeting for forming a comedy club at our university. Enough said.

I went on to describe basic physical attributes, "nice non-greasy hair, clean, nice eyes, at least an average body, taller than me, doesn't smell horrible". I can easily check all of these off. Nick has nice hair, is clean, has gorgeous eyes, has an average body, is taller than me (by half an inch but it counts) and doesn't smell horrible. So that's good.

Another point I made was, "[it] would be nice are having common interests like philosophy, running, the gym, politics, psychology, law, TV shows. Its not necessary, but it helps. I don't want to be like twins though, but I can't not have things in common". We definitely have separate interests. My main interests are running/fitness and writing. His main interests are technology, gaming, comic books and movies/tv. We both like comedy movies and TV shows and find the odd other show that we will watch together like Castle and Orange is the New Black. But I dislike Sci-Fi movies with a passion. We both like philosophy and law as well. He is majoring in Criminal Justice to be a lawyer and I am double-majoring in Psychology and Philosophy with a minor in english studies to become a teacher, so career and education wise we are pretty compatible too.

I go on to talk about how health is important to me and I want them to at least eat pretty healthy. Yeah, Nick doesn't eat super healthy. I'd say he is average with the amount of junk food and regular food he eats. But we have also met each other halfway. I am not as strict with my diet and he has started to eat healthier throughout the course of our relationship.

I talk about a few other things but I don't want to get exhaustive. My point is that Nick is 99% like the ideal boyfriend I described. Unfortunately, Nick is not my boyfriend. He is my finacĂ©, which is better. TEHEHE that was cheesy.

Anyways. I'll post soon <3
